Right, then I flew back to e-town, and worked with my step-dad (Ted) for a week and a half. I had a hard time finding an appropriate place to stay in st.albert – since I didn’t want to last-minute ask anyone, and one friend whom I stayed with ended up in the middle of a family emergency while I was there!! Craziness, but good times. I had a good time working with Ted, and really focusing on learning some carpentry skills.

So far, not too bad! This quick recap of the summer over the last few posts is, of course, only to give you a context for the realness of what this blog will be all about:

You see, my mom is going to victoria to do a residency for her masters, and, if you’ve been paying attention till now, you’ll know that my step-dad is working in edmonton. This leaves no one at home in Lumby B.C. to care for my little half-sister, Emily, the exchange student (Jaai-Wen), and the dog (nutmeg). Throwing all caution to the wind, I have foolishly enlisted myself under the position of caretaker and guardian of Emily until such time as either parent returns. Being as attuned to the intricacies of comedy as I am, I realized the great many moments of comedy which would arise out of this made-for-t.v. situation. This blog then, will be my best efforts to document the next few weeks with pictures, videos, and literary report.

I may also intersperse my own occasional thoughts and feelings and projects to contribute to the ever-growing body of published work which will one day provide my posthumous biographers with the rich materials they really need to do a good job.  Dayyam, that sentence ran on so far I’m almost out of breath.

hope y’all enjoy!
